We're launching a new feature on The Parent Post called 0-10...we meet so many amazing parents along the way with Parent Apparel, we thought it was rude not to share them with you! We've got some mega Mums and Dads lined up, first up is the lovely Jemma from Mumma's Health Hub, creator of the new fitness cards. The Pack of Hacks was created to help Mummas fit in some exercise around the crazy, busy and unpredictable life that comes with having kids. Grab the pack and when you have a few minutes, flip over one, two (or more) cards and crack on! #fittingitin #mummashealthhub (All Photography by Emily Gray)
Hello Jemma and welcome to The Parent Post!
1. Who are you and what do you do?
I'm Jemma from Mumma's Health Hub
2. Where do you live and how many children do you have?
I live in Surrey and have 2 kids aged 5 and 10 months.
3. Describe your Parenting style in three words.
Footloose & Fancy Free (If you don't count the & ... it's 3 words)
…And now if we were to ask your kids to describe your Parenting style in three words what would they say?
'Mum I'm hungry' ... it's literally all he ever says
4. What was the last picture you took on your phone?
Of My dad and Buddy mucking about.
5. Describe a typical day.
'typical' being ever so random... up from 5.30am onwards.. whenever Buddy decides to wake us up. Get Buddy ready for whoever has him, Jude ready for school, then drive to work, I still have a day job in a marketing agency and do my fitness 'on the side'. So if i can get out at lunch for a run or anything it's a good way to fit something in. I leave work, pick up the kids from their various hangouts, make whatever I can cobble together for tea and wait for Billy to get in to help me out! Then we both crack open the laptops (he runs @gooutsidethelines ) and try to carry on for as long as possible. I might do a client or train myself some days. I'm knackered, but I think the exercise gives me more mojo to keep going.
6. Are you there yet? And where is there?
Really not sure where I'm going to be honest, I feel like I'm learning loads, meeting some quite frankly amazing women who have inspired me. I created my Pack of Hacks to help women fit in small bit of excersie to the day and the feedback I've had is fab, love hearing that mums find them useful. My 'dream' would be to create some cool vids and easy mini work outs that women use for specific things like, post c-section tummy, or bum / arms specifically... all in good time!
7. Funniest or most tragic Parenting moment to date?
Hmm loads.. erm Jude being so proud of himself spelling out S H I T over and over again when he was learning phonics, he told everyone he saw! 'I can spell shit S-H-I-T.. i was actually proud and it cracked everyone up.
8. Let’s talk about sleep… how much do you get a night?
About 3 hours, then up to settle buddy, then maybe another 3? 6 max .. but broken up. It could be worse!
9. How do you make sure it’s a Good Yawning?
Just having loads of different food in, as mentioned, Jude is always hungry... being out of Nutella is code red!
As my insta say's 'I'm about reality, not perfection,' I really believe exercise can chill you out and relieve stress, but some nights you just don't feel like it, I get that too, so of course a lovely cold GnT is just as good to chill you out.
