We are a little bit in love with the new range from Cosatto. Their bright colours are right up our street! We caught up with Vicky Morley, the creative director who told us a bit about what she does and how she makes it work.
The Parent Post: Meet baby brand Cosatto’s Creative Director.
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Vicky Morley and I’m the Creative Director at Cosatto. I oversee all of the creative output of what we do here from initial design ideas through to final creative and marketing plans, photography and brand tone of voice.
Who are you a Mum to and how would you describe the person.
To Esme (age 16) she is passionate, caring and determined and Polly (age -12) she is loyal, brave and has an extremely strong moral compass.
Describe your Parenting style in three words.
Collaborative, fair and open.
What was the last picture you took on your phone?
Polly’s new bedroom decor.
Fiona Daniel drummer from The Whip wearing our Rock 'n' Stroll tee along with her Wow Spectroluxe
Describe a typical day at Cosatto HQ.
Lots of discussion and collaboration, everyone has an opinion and is passionate about what we do which is great. The office has a very relaxed atmosphere and no levels of hierarchy. There is usually some sort of cake or chocolate involved and then a form of exercise to balance it out. Our CEO Andrew encourages a fun, open culture where everyone takes responsibility for what they do and how they work. There is always a new challenge but it is always fun.
Are you there yet? And where is there?
Not yet but we’re working on it. “There” is a world with happy babies, happy parents, happy pavements and a happy world where prams are covered in unicorns and people know who we are.
Funniest or most tragic Parenting moment to date?
When my daughter Esme was small she asked my sister in-law Tamsyn why she was so much better at putting plasters on than me, Tamsyn replied “because I’m a nurse and your mum is a designer” and Esme nodded –“oh yes and my mummy designs baby prams and that’s MUCH more important than nursing” - I nearly died laughing!
Let’s talk about sleep… how much do you get a night?
I religiously go to bed at 10 and get 7.5hrs a night - it’s not always been that way though!
How do you make sure it’s a Good Yawning?
I have Greek yoghurt, figs and honey every day, and always prepare for the next day the night before. Fail to plan, plan to fail!
Let’s talk about GIN. Mother’s Ruin or Mother’s Saviour? How do you relax?
Mothers ruin - unless its homemade Damson Gin at Christmas. I relax by doing Ashtanga yoga about 4 times a week.
